AMAZING books for teenage girls especially!

Review by Elizabeth Dyck, December 31, 2012

I loved it! I hated it! There’s no other way around it. I loved it because, there are only a few authors out there who excel at writing clean and pure Christian novels. Novels that inspire, lift up, and make you look in awe at our Creator God. Karen Kingsbury has done that with Leaving and with every other book I have read of hers. I hated it because, just like every other book I have read of hers, it made me cry. When Bailey gets a call to audition for the Broadway show Hairspray, she believes that God has answered her prayer to open an opportunity to act. But when she returns home and the don’t call her. She believes that God has closed the door on her. Cody has left the Flanigan’s home and moved to Indianapolis to live closer to his mother who is in prison for working with drugs. He also left behind a young woman whose heart he broke when he left and a bucketful of unanswered questions. I hope this book inspires you to live more fully for God and to do everything in your power to bring honor and glory to him, as it has me.

I loved this book it was great, bailey flanigan is a very talented character in this story she goes to broadway to perform and her parents and friends are sad that she's leaving to go to broadway but God was with her and helped her to be able to perform to the best of her ability with his help because with God all things are possible.

I loved reading Leaving. There were so many parallels to my life and that of my family. It is a fantastic book and I am now looking forward to reading the rest of the series. My daughter is looking forward to reading it after me.

LOVED this book. I don't know how I can say it enough. (I couldn't see through my tears when Bailey left :) It is my favorite out of all of them..so far :) I have read 20 of your books and they all amaze me. Somehow they inspire me or something..they make me feel like doing something good for someone! I have never read a book that was as good as yours. You are such a talented writer! My hope is that you will never set down your pen. Thank You for your time, Shaina

I loved Leaving.  However, all through the book, I knew I was missing history.  Went back to the front to see if I missed it, but no.  I read the last page in the book to find out I just read book one of a series of 5.  I have Longing, but I am now starting at the begining with the Redemption series.  I have all of the others, except the First Born.  Will be purchasing them as soon as I get to a larger town.  Loved the book.  Maybe on reprints, the reader could be warned that this is not the first.  Love your books but like to read in order.  I am kinda OCD.

I just finished reading Leaving. I stayed up really late, I just had too...GREAT Book!!

There are still so many stories yet to be resolved. I am pulling for Bailey and Cody. I can't help but to pull for Brandon too. This is going to be a wonderful series and even more interesting to see how it all plays out. Ashley and Landon have a tough road ahead as well.

Thanks Karen for these great books. God has really blessed you with a wonderful gift. It has encourage me to get my family to learn a new bible verse every two weeks. Something we can carry with us and call on God's word in good and difficult times. Keep writing as long as God allows. I hope God presents the opportunity for us to meet one day soon. God Bless you and your family.

P.S. I am going back and reading the other books about the Baxter's and Flanigans.

First let me say, THANK YOU, Karen. You Really make a Diffrence in my life.

My mom got me started reading Karen's books and now I can't put them down. The first book, Leaving, in the "Bailey Flanigan" series has related to my life and has really made a difference in it. Out of the 15 books of Karen's that I've read, this has to be the best book yet. I can't wait to read the rest! God Bless You Karen!

Love, Maddie :)
