I am a mother of 4 kids:  to an almost 18 yr old son, an almost 16 daughter, a seven year old son and another 4 year old son who has some developmental delays.  I am an RN and work part time in the hospital. You can imagine how busy my days could get.  I got the firstborn series from my mother. One day, we visited our Pastor's mom in the hospital and my mom found these books at the lobby of the hospital and bought them for 25 cents per book donation.  She gave me the books but I didn't start reading until after a week she gave them to me because of my hectic schedule.  Once I started reading them, I knew that this will be part of my routine in reviving my relationship with God.  I recently started attending our church's prayer meetings and these books help remind me that I must constatly read my bible and pray as Katy and Dayne did.  I cried each time I see how God shows his presence in the lives of the characters of these books because I know that He does want us to constatly depend on Him, even in the most impossible situations in our lives as Katy, Dayne and the rest of the Baxters did.  I shared some of the messages about forgiving in the second book of this series to my co-workers and just waiting and praying who would I share these books to.  The Forever, last of the firsborn series, spoke to me in volumes especially after reading Elizabeth Baxter's letters to each of her child.  Her Ten Secrets to a Happy Marriage are very well illustrated on Luke and Reagan's realtionship. I will always remember that Love acted out is serving. My husband and I had gone through a cold and lifeless relationship but praise God, we passed it now.  I feel that the books are like our Christian friend who helped us through that dark stage of our marriage.  If I was able to read the firsborn series within my hectic schedule, I am certain that I will have time for the other books that I will be looking forward to.  I can't wait to get the other books and find out how the story turns out for Katy and Dayne and the Flanigans. Finally, books that are worth reading and sharing.  I pray that God bless you continously Karen and inspire you with His Holy Spirit as you continue to touch more lives with your bneitherooks.
