Divine Reader Reviews

Divine is a great book about the love of God. I recomend that all women 13 and up should read this book. God will be there for you no matter what. God loves you and you all should know that. Never sell your soul for what you feel is love. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Always know that. God bless you all!

I downloaded this book, on a whim, from Amazon. It sounded interesting, so I took the chance. Not my normal read. When I started reading the section about Jimbo, I almost put it down and erased it off of my Kindle. I have daughters 10, 7, and 1 years old. What happened to Mary was horendous! I've cried many times throughout my readings of "Divine" but, I know that somewhere out there, in this world that we live in, someone's child is going through this. It breaks my heart that such, evil beings, are out there praying on the innocent.
This book is a great inspiration to anyone that thinks they are, locked into an unbearable situation, and there is no way to get out. If you just need His words to guide you, this book is the one. Thank you Karen, what a great inspiration Mary and Emma are....

I read this book while staying with my son in the hospital for 3 nights. It was an amazing book. It showed how victorious one can be with the love of Jesus. That he is sufficient to meet all of our needs. Reminds me of the song:
"More than enough"
All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough
You are my supply
My breath of life
And still more awesome than I know
You are my reward worth living for
And still more awesome than I know
All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough
You're my sacrifice of greatest price
And still more awesome than I know
You're the coming King
You are everything
And still more awesome than I know
More than all I want
More than all I need
You are more than enough for me
More than all I know
More than all I can say
You are more than enough for me

This is a deeply touching book! Not only did it touch me personally but, I feel like it is a resource to help women whom have been abused. I will be giving copies of this out.

"Divine" is my favorite book. This book is why Mrs. Kingsbury's books are called "Life-Changing Fiction," because, this is what they are. The only reason I put this book down when I did, was because, I was crying so hard that I couldn't see the words on the page. The story doesn't shy away from the upsetting details - it's real. Truly an incredible book.

divine- Although the situations may not apply to your life, divine is utterly inspiring!! I could read it again and again, and still cry bucket-loads! Thank you jesus for someone who can express these situations to those of us who previously couldn't begin to imagine what it would be like to live a life like this. I now have a new outlook on life, and pray often for the people in these situations. Totally recommend, It's life changing stuff...

Divine was awesome and I cried because of my girls in jail ministry. I have been trying to contact Karen to see if I could do a book report form with the questions at the end for the girls. So many of their lives have been like Marys'. Could you direct me? That was powerful. I read it three times. Thank you so much. God bless.

I believe that Divine is one the most powering book ever written. Kingsbury recreates Mary Magdeline's story of seven demons. But the Mary in this story has gone through the modern day demons that girls on our world are going through behind closed doors, or shall I say locked basements. That's why I love this book God speaks through Kingsbury's words to shout out to us that this is what's happening and God isn't happy about it. Ha can set you free. Not only the things in Divine but anything that you need to escape from. And this freedom is Divine it's a love between Jesus and you that only God could be the author of! I really love Karen's book because she always creates a fiction book that doesn't make me feel like I'm wasting my life and to have a piece or pieces of literature that match with my beliefs!

As a survivor of grand-scale, horrific childhood sexual abuse, I was afraid to read this story and have the nightmares awaken. As a formerly addicted person with a life full of bad choices, I was afraid to recall my shame. As a young believer, I felt drawn to this book and the possibility of feeling hope. I am so glad that, once again, God was faithful to reward me for choosing hope over fear. This book was one of the biggest blessings that I have ever received!
