Welcome to Karen's Guestbook

Thanks for stopping by my guestbook.

This is one of my favorite sections of my website, because late at night - when the kids are in bed and I've finished writing for that day - I can check in with all of you.

The kind words and encouragements you write for me here in the guestbook are so valuable to me. They encourage me to keep writing, and they convince me that creating Life-Changing Fiction is God's calling for me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your heart.

  1. I would like to be Karen's friend and receive her occasional email updates.

Favorite Book: Shades of Blue

Thank you so much for writing about this difficult, but unfortunately widespread topic. This was a very personal book for me and I gained a new perspective on some difficult feelings. I hope to be able to share this book with a brother or sister in Christ who may also be struggling. With so many books in today's world that focus on the popular or secular view of a woman's choice, I really appreciate reading books that are centered on God's word and a common belief in Jesus Christ. Thanks and I look forward to reading "Longing", the next book on my list.

Favorite Book: Baxter Series

A friend loaned me the redemption series and I fell in love with the book's. I have always been an avid reader and love when authors have a series that brings characters in & out of stories. It's like catching up with old friends. Another friend loaned me the Take One Series. While reading them I quickly realized I had I had missed a series. As recent kindle owner I was above to pick up all your books in the Baxter Series at an incredible Price. I just finished Learning and will start Longing when I complete this post. Thanks for the hours of pure pleasure your books Have given me. And to the encouragement they give to all of us no matter what phase of life we are in.

Favorite Book: all I have read

I am a totally blind reader originally from SC. I am also a simi-professional musician. I play keyboard and sing. I have enjoyed all of your books I can get in audio format, whether in audio, audible, or etext. Coming Home was one of my favorites, but was also one of the saddest, because of such a tragic accident. In my late 20's I was involved in a drunk driving accident, and luckily only had a concussion. I was able to go home later that night, but God taught me some valuable lessons I never forgot. It is my prayer that you will keep turning out such good books that also cover everyday issues and matters that Christians face today. It would also be helpful if the forever in fiction listings could be found on your website, they are not always available in audio or audible books. God bless!

Favorite Book: Every one of them!

This summer, I found "Between Sundays", and me being a huge football fan, I devoured it! After that, over the past several months, I have exhausted every library in Wisconsin that has your books! Thank you SOOO much for writing these life-changing books for all of us!

Favorite Book: Waiting For Morning

Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your first two books in your series The Forever Faithful. I am waiting for the 3rd book
to come to my library. I plan to read all of your books. They are so inspiring. You are a wonderful author. I hope some day I can meet you. I would come to Franklin, but our finances are tight. I know if the Lord wants us to meet we will. Until that day, I have your books to comfort me. God Bless you and your family and have a very blessed Christmas and New Year.

Favorite Book: Between Sundays

I had read every book of yours except "Between Sundays", which I just finished. I must tell you that, when Derrick prayed, asking God to kiss his son, Lee on the cheek for him, it brought me to sobbing tears. I aborted my first child 39 yrs ago. I know I'm forgiven, but "Between Sundays" helped me think of my child as being in God's presence. I never asked God to kiss or hug my child before, but I did today. I felt a hug from God, letting me know he does have my child by his side! I knew it before, but your book made it even more real. Thank you SO much for listening to God's still small voice as you write such amazing stories! Every one has blessed me! Now that I'm finished with all the books out there, I've got to be patient and wait for the next one...then the next one...etc! Hurry up and get them out here! :) May God richly bless you and your family the Christmas!

Favorite Book: any involving the Flanigans or Baxters!!!

I discovered your books after I bought my Nook. And I love them. I first read The Bailey Flanigan series and then the Firstborn Series. I read everything backwards! I'm so sad. I Loved them all and I think it would have been a great experience to have read them in order. I don't think I'll ever forget these two wonderful families and I can't imagine loving fictional characters more than I do now! Thank you for giving them to us.

Favorite Book: Each one I read!

I just discovered your books when I stumbled upon Sunrise. I know God lead me to the K aisle and your books. I just finished Summer and felt compelled to write and thank you for the story of Sarah. Last year on August 10, 2011, my second son Hardison, passed away at 22 weeks gestation due to placental abruption. I struggled mightily in my faith and relationship with God. Since that time, God has shown me the quiet whisper and fed my soul and given me peace, Ashley's story and the feelings expressed were so resounding and hopeful to me and reinforced all the wonderful things God has said to me regarding Hardison's death. I didn't get to hear him cry but the time I had was precious and faith building. Thank you for sharing this side of God's love with the world. I plan to start at the beginning with the Baxter family and continue reading your well crafted stories of love, life and faith in God. Thanks so much for talking about the horror and love when dealing with child loss.

Karen, it's very obvious that you have a God-given talent, and what's so special about it is that you're using it to change people's lives. I'm a sixth grader, and my friends and I pass your books around for each other to read. I'm usually crying by the time I'm done reading because the message in the book is so strong. I pray that you'll keep writing, and I thank God for your talent. Keep it up!

Favorite Book: Bailey Flanigan Series

My mom and I have been reading your books since I was a teenager, so to say we love your books is an understatement!!! But this series about Bailey and Andi and their struggles and success in God touched my heart in such a real way! My dream is to work with prostitutes, or girls who have had abortions, or abused women. Since I was a teen God put this dream in my heart. My heart just feels so much for them. I've always rooted for teenagers and had a group of girls I mentored a while back but then I got married and had two kids so I really didn't have the time. I want to thank you for writing this series, because in the early morning hours while I was breastfeeding I read these books and God used them to rekindle that passion He once started! Thank you for your obedience in writing these stories and being so public with your faith! You are truly an inspiration!!!!

Favorite Book: ALL

Karen, I AM TAKEN AWAY with your books! I began reading them this year...so far 9 of them. I can picture the setting in each story and the characters. It's wild, you just become a part of the story, at least I do. You are an AMAZING author. I can't wait to finish ALL of the books in all the series. You are by far one of the best Christian authors out there today. Real life experiences, having a closer relationship with God, and just a very appropriate approach. I feel good and safe reading your books. Keep up the good work my friend!

I have always loved reading but I had hit a point where I couldn't find anything to read that was great, or even good, anymore. One day, a friend of mine suggested your books and now I won't ever run out of great books to read! Every book is so inspiring and I can't seem to put it down!! Thank you!

Favorite Book: Between Sundays

I received this book as a Christmas gift a few years ago. It was given to me by a teacher that I worked with. You see, she knew that I was a foster parent and thought I would enjoy the book, and...I did! It was wonderful to hear about what a football player started with the help of family & friends, that explained what 'they - the athletes' do between Sundays. The care and compassion they show and share with the foster children was heart warming. What an inspiring way to give of yourself. I am looking forward to reading more of your books Karen.

This is the only one I have read so far. I was in tears at the end. I took a vacation day to get a head start on thanksgiving dinner and found I could not put down the book. So far have managed to make the pies. My son has a friend over and I am very thankful I get to spend the day with them instead of working. I look forward to reading more of your books. Thank you and God Bless.
