Fallen Soldiers and Heroes

Sgt. Joel W. Lewis, 28, born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada was serving with the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, of Fort Lewis, Washington. He was killed May 6, 2007 in Baqubah, Iraq when an improvised explosive devise was detonated near their Stryker. He died with 5 other comrades: SSgt. Vincenzo Romeo, Sgt. Jason Harkins, Cpl. Anthony Bradshaw, Cpl. Matthew Alexan der, and Cpl. Michael Pursel. Joel loved life and lived it to the full. He loved anything adventurous including sky diving, scuba diving, and snowboarding. He was very competitive and was proud to serve this country. He was engaged to be married and was looking forward to starting a family. Joel – you are loved and missed!
