Fallen Soldiers and Heroes

Thank you for what you are doing to remember those we have lost in our fight for freedom! SPc Matthew J. Emerson October 20, 1986-September 18, 2007 My cousin, Matt, was killed on an early morning patrol in Mosul, Iraq. He was a gunner on a Humvee and was thrown from the vehicle when the driver lost control after being blinded by a spotlight. He loved what he was doing and served his country with all his heart. He was the youngest of three in an amazing family of Christ-followers. Growing up in the small town of Grandview, WA, he was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Coaches and teachers have no shortage of wonderful things to say about their memories of him in the classroom and on the field. Many of his buddies talk of his love for the Lord and his quiet way of being there for anyone in need of a kind word or a helping hand. He is very missed among his large extended family, his tight-knit community, and his countless friends from the military, but we all know he is dancing in Heaven with Jesus where there is no sadness or pain.
