Fallen Soldiers and Heroes

On September 8th, 2009, 1st Lieutenant Joseph D. Helton (my cousin) was killed in action, near Bagdad, when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Joe was deployed from the 6th Security Forces Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He was stationed there in 2007 after graduating from the Air Force Academy. I have the words in my heart to honor his memory, but I can't bring them to life with the respect I think he deserves. All I can say is that he will forever be missed and loved by all who knew him.
