Fallen Soldiers and Heroes

Sergeant David Weir

United States Army

Sgt. David Weir was a loving brother, son, husband, and father (my brother-in-law). He was the middle child of five siblings. He was raised in a christian home in a small town called Cleveland, TN. He was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq and was killed in action September 14th, 2006. He changed many people's lives - including our own. My husband, which is David's brother, decided to join the Army in 2007 after his brother had been killed. He wanted to go and finish what his brother had started. My husband, Chris, also deployed to Iraq and returned home this past December of 2009. He got to walk the same grounds as David and I think it truly gave him closure. If it weren't for this journey of David being killed in action and Chris joining the Army - our lives and hope and strength would not be where they are with God today. I had to rely so much on my church family as a military wife of a deployed soldier. And that word "family" really became something so deep to me. R.I.P. David - we love you and have a pride in how you died for our freedom!
