This is my friend's husband who recently passed away in Afghanistan! The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom Spc. Sean R. Cutsforth, 22, of Radford, Va., died Dec.15 at Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when Insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. Cutsforth was an Infantryman, who joined the Army in September 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in February 2009. His awards and decorations include: the Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Cutsforth is survived by his wife, Ashley L. Cutsforth of Clarksville, Tenn.; mother Vickie L. Cutsforth of Manassas, Va., and father, Robert. H. Cutsforth, of Gainseville, Va.
