I pray for all those serving, those who have lost someone and those who live with the pain of war that God will surround you with an army of angels to protect you and guide you, in Jesus' precious name. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23).
Believe on Christ. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31).
Confess your faith. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation" (Rom. 10:9,10).

My husband, Christopher, was truly sent to me from God. God has blessed us with a beautiful son, Noah Matthew. Christopher left on May 13th and will be traveling to different ports until December of this year. Leaving my son at 6 months old has been the toughest thing my husband has gone through. Please keep him in your prayers. He is still learning about our wonderful Savior as he is new in his relationship with God. I ask you all to pray that while he is overseas that God shows him all that He is and that we need not to lean on our own understanding. There is so much to learn from our heavenly Father, whether we are young in our faith or not. Pray that God opens his heart and mind so that he comes home with a better understanding and closer relationship with God. God bless all of our men overseas!

My son is a Marine, he enlisted May of 2008, graduated from MCRD San Diego, CA in August of 2008. He is stationed in Monterey, CA at the Defense language Institute, studying the Farsi language. With God's help he will graduate November or December 2009. He is really struggling with listening (interpreting) and speaking. Mark Gonsalves

United States Army
Serving in Iraq
This is my husband in whom I am so very proud of. He's the greatest gift that God has ever given me and I'm so blessed to be his wife. We married in February 2004 and in April 2005 with much prayer I let my husband join the army. Off he went to basic and AIT training. He was gone for four months and his first duty station was Korea. He came home for two weeks and left again. It was a year tour and he could not bring me along on. Four months into his tour his command let me come to visit him during the holidays. It was so wonderful to be together that my husband had me get an apartment and I stayed. Korea then sped on by. His permanent duty station became Fort Sill, Oklahoma. We shared two years and in December 2007 one of my biggest fears took place he got orders for a 15 month mission to Iraq. In April he left for this 15 month journey. Even though it's hard to be separated, my husband serving in Iraq has been a blessing. It threw him in a place to get right with God again. God is so awesome because He's recaptured my husband's heart. He's renewed my husbands passion for Him. My husband is being transformed everday into the Man that God desires him to be. We are blessed because even though he's in Iraq, God has placed him in a safe place. My husband is able to call me everyday or webcam. God has been our strength and will continue to be our stregth as we get through this Iraq mission. Together, we have a 3 month old daughter. Please pray that God will continue be my husbands source and strength. Pray, that God will continue to help my husband grow deeper in Him and give him the wisdom/direction on leading his family. Also, my husband is planning on getting out of the army when he gets back from Iraq. Please, pray that God will guide him and give him wisdom during the transition.
Thank You and Bless you,

This is my husband Ryan, I'm his wife Krista and our 2 children Noah and Madison. Ryan is currently in Iraq and has been for 6 months so far. It's been a long road for both him and I, and we still have a ways until that road comes to a end. I would just like to put out a prayer request for him, for his safety and mindset as well. It's hard enough for him being away from his wife and kids, so I pray that he's able to clear his mind and concentrate on what's most important at this time, and that's his everyday tasks he has in Iraq. I pray that he remembers that in the army, mission comes first, than family. We are so very proud of what he's doing and we love him more than anything. And we are counting down the days till he comes home. I would also like to pray for all the military families as well, especially the wives. We do have the hardest job in the armed forces! This is a picture of my mom, brother and myself in Chicago, IL Oct. 2007 after my brother's graduation ceremony from boot camp. He is in the Navy, currently residing in Norfolk, VA on the USS Eisenhower. I am so proud of him for deciding to serve his country. His only dream has ever been to join the Navy and enter the SEAL program. Unfortunately, that has not happened yet. My heart reaches out to my brother, I love him so much. He is due to deploy for Afghanistan in Feb, 2009 and he will be gone for about 5 months. My mom and I pray continuously for him. Please, pray for him and all his friends. I pray that he finds other Christian buddies to become friends with. My mom and I both love him dearly, and miss him all the way over here in Shingle Springs, CA.

Alan Ramsey

Currently in training
This is my boyfriend Alan Ramsey, he is currently in training in Ft. Knox Kentucky. I must say this has been very difficult, him being away from home but when I receive his letters it makes me so happy and it keeps me going strong. It reminds me of Emily and Justin from the book Ever After when Justin would write his letters to Emily while he was over in Iraq fighting for our Freedom. I think this time though has been in some ways good for the both of us, we both found God and he is at the center of our relationship. I know that God will see us through this, I pray every night for him and all the other soldiers out there who are either fighting for our country or who are currently in training for our country. I ask you to do the same. Also please pray for both Alan & I (Maria) to remain strong and that our faith will still remain strong. He is truly the most amazing man ever and I thank God everyday for bringing him into my life! -Thank You, Proud Army Girlfriend

Joseph W. Lyles

United States Marines
Currently Serving in Afghanistan
This is my son, Joseph, who is on his first deployment to Afghanistan. He enrolled in the delayed entry program for the USMC in 2006, while he was still a senior in high school. If anyone would ask him why the Marines, he always told them “because God told me to”. Despite numerous attempts from well-meaning friends and acquaintances to convince him to choose a different branch of service, he stood his ground to follow his heart in doing God’s will for his life. I’m very proud of him for that. Please pray for safety for him and the entire 24th MEU as they are in Afghanistan for a 7 month deployment. A lot of people think that Afghanistan is “safe” but there are dangers there just like in Iraq. I realized that today when he called to tell us of one such danger. Please also pray that Joseph will be a shining light for Jesus among his fellow Marines as well as any local Afghans he may come in contact with. -Thank you, Dennis & Sharon Lyles, proud parents

My brother Darren is married with a little 2 year old boy DJ, and is expecting a second in July. He won't be able to be at the birth of his second baby, and although I know this happens all the time in military families, until you are in that situation, you don't really understand the sacrifice these families go through. Please pray for strength for my sister-in-law as she goes through these next 7 months. Also, I would ask prayer for my Mom and Dad. When I was 12, we lost my little brother Michael to bone cancer, Darren and David came after Michael died. Crickette deployed to Iraq the weekend after Thanksgiving & will be serving for about 15 months. Marissa who is now a little over a year old is staying with us. "This is my husband, Robert. He is on his second tour of duty in Iraq. He felt like God was calling him into the Army to do a work for Him. It was a big step for us because we had only done the National Guard thing, which is who my husband went to Iraq with the first time (our National Guard deserves attention also!) But with God's warm embrace and that peace that surpasses all understanding, we know everything will be alright. While reading the book EVER AFTER, I wasn't sure I could get through it or even if I should be reading it with my husband overseas but it is a wonderful book and describes my husband completely. He loves the Lord and sees the good we are doing over there. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is getting spread and people are getting saved. Our men and women in the military (families also) deserve so much because they are over there in harms way, for us. They deserve our prayers and whatever else we can give them. But above all, God deserves our praise and worship, because he is Almighty and He is the one that brings our troops home and directs their paths over there. Thanks being to Him for the greatest sacrifice ever. Jesus Christ!!!"
Benjamin Weber

United States Army
Serving in Iraq
"Ben is currently serving in Iraq. He lost his best friend (and cousin) Jason Paton in a sniper attack in February '07 and, just two days later,
Ben was wounded (along with 16 others of his platoon) in an Al queda ambush. These 17 wounded men fought a 5 hour battle against 80 insurgents, after a massive truck bomb destroyed the Iraqi police outpost they were guarding in the town of Tarmiyah. Since then, his company has lost 10 more men in the near-constant combat they have seen for most of this 15 month deployment. Things have calmed down more recently in the region, as their so-costly efforts have begun to pay off. The troop surge is working! Thanks to God, who hears our prayers! And to the inspired efforts of General Pettreaus, and those serving in the northern Bagdad region. May God continue to inspire and to protect and to heal these brave men of Demon company. Ben recently received the Purple Heart Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal with "V" device for valor, for his actions in the Battle at Tarmiyah." Ben's proud and honored mom - Jenni Oakley

My husband, Larry, is funny, kind, loving, with strong moral integrity that makes me respect him beyond words. He wants more than anything to help the civilians realize that the stigma relayed to them about what it means to be "American" is wrong. We are not all without strength, faith, moral integrity, courage, empathy, and love.
Please pray for my husband's safety. And, please pray that he is able to stay that funny, kind. loving person through all he will endure and see. Please let him look toward Heaven anytime he feels burdened with a heavy heart and exhausted. Please let the faces of our four daughters come into his mind and make him smile. Let that give him strength to go on as well. And please pray that peace begins to work it's way into that fractured country so that all our men can come home. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for my husband and our family, Shannon L. Hawkins

Served His Country
My oldest son, Brian, left for Iraq in February 2003. He was in Iraq only one month and was injured. Brian was specially trained with motorcycles in the Marines and was doing reconnaissance work the day he was injured. He was flying by on his bike past a parked convoy of humvees on the highway. The humvee driver was eating and not looking when he decided to pull out from the convoy and my son was right there hitting the humvee at probably 70 mph. It was God’s miracle that he lived. Please pray for his recovery and for peace to surround him. -Kristie Barrie

"My husband Matthew just returned from Iraq on July 1, 2007 and will be going back in November, 2007 for 15 months. This has been a tough time for him because of our small children but he feels that we are doing some good over there so he goes back regardless of what people think of him. He was injured in Iraq the first time and in my mind that makes him a hero. Regardless of what we think of the war we have to support the troops because this is their job. Remember to thank a vet." -God Bless and thank you, Jessica

I wanted to say THANK YOU for this awesome book "Ever After" I love all your books but this one touches a special place in my heart. I have
always loved the United States and what we stand for and since 9-11 have supported our servicemen (most of whom I have never met personally) but have great respect for them as I have gotten to know them as they have served in Iraq.
This is my brother, LCPL Engel, Joshua, who is currently serving in Iraq for 2 more months before he will return stateside. He joined the US Marine Corps last year and volunteered to go to Iraq early so that those who have families would be able to return home to them. He knows he is where God wants him right now and we ask that as you pray for his safety and spiritual wellness that you would also THANK God for all the good things that He is doing over there as well as here. He is pictured with my mom the last time we saw him before he shipped out. God bless!

They have been through a lot. 2 Samuel 22:33-34 says, It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He enables me to stand on the heights. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, Be strong and courageous. The LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Isaiah 40:31 says, Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaac and Erika have a loving family that supports them and prays for them. We pray for strength, and peace that can only come from God, to fill their souls.

This is my husband, PVT. Whitt. After 9/11 he wanted to join the military to fight for his country but was too old. The Army raised the enlistment age to 42. He will be deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in June 2007. The only thing he asks from us is to send pictures. God has truly blessed our family with a wonderful, unselfish & brave man. We ask for prayers to our Almighty God to hold him close, safe from harms way, to give him strength when fatigued, to keep him hydrated, nourished & rested, to protect him from the elements of the desert, to prevent illness & injuries, to keep his mind clear & focused & if faced with decisions he was raised not to make, please Lord remind him - he will always be your Son no matter what happens. Finally we ask God to bring him home soon with his good-hearted spirit and beautiful smile intact. United States Army
Served Our Country
"In June of 2005, my husband, SSG David Barker of the 301st Psychological Operations, Airborne, US Army, was wounded in combat. He received a severe crush injury to his arm, leaving him permanently disabled. He was medevac'd back to the US one month before our baby girl was born. The two years since have brought many tears, grief and heartache as we struggled to get David through the pain and the many emotions that come with dealing with a traumatic injury of war. There were many days when it felt like God had completely abandoned us, but those were the times when He was carrying us. God's Love and Grace are truly sufficient! Continue to pray for our service men and women, some who are returning to Iraq for the third time." -Emily Barker (Forever, an Army wife, in the United States of America)

Joshua Eichelberger

United States Navy
Josh is a SeaBee who has made two trips to Iraq and one trip to Kuwait. He is currently stationed stateside and in the process of moving our daughter-in-law and three beautiful granddaughters from one base to another. Before he went to, and while he was in Iraq, he told us to put him on as many prayer lists as possible: the more prayer cover, the better. While over there, he also reassured us not to believe everything the television showed as news. Sometimes what the news agencies reported as smoke from bombs was really the smoke from the Green Zone garbage pit. Please pray for him and all our military. - Fay Eichelberger

Sean Smith

Army National Guard
Stationed in Iraq
I would like prayers for my brother, Sgt. Sean Smith who is serving in the Army National Guard and is stationed in Iraq. For Christmas my family was blessed to have him home for 15 days leave. He is due to come home in late July. At the end of February, several Humvees, soldiers from his platoon, were hit by an IED, injuring several and killing one soldier. Also, his camp was hit by enemy fire, injuring several more. The effect this had on all the soldiers was devastating and many of the soldiers, including my brother, are still having difficulty with these events. I am asking for prayers for my brother, his troop, and all our troops. Now more than ever, they need to know that God is with them and that their family and friends are behind them all the way. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you & not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.

Calvin is my hero, not only is he serving his country, he is also serving His Lord and Savior by sharing His Truth with the lost! 2nd Deployment to Iraq
"This is a picture of my son and his wife Sarah, carrying their baby girl "Lizzie" due in June and their two boys Logan(Right) and Jordan(Left). This is my son's 2nd deployment to Iraq. On his 1st tour, he blew up a terrorist bomber in Tal Afar, Iraq. If the terrorist bomber would've gotten through the gate, he would have blown up the whole base. By the faith of God and JR's faith in his GUARDIAN ANGELS, he saved many lives, but he always claims he was only doing his job!! Now on his 2nd tour, he asks for everyone to pray for him, his fellow soldiers and his whole platoon. As his mother & sister, we ask for everyone to pray for all of them. Every prayer helps. Thank You!

"My dear husband has been in Afghanistan for 4 months. As a true believer in Christ, I know God needs him there, to reach out to other people. He is a musician director, so he took his guitar with him so he and others could praise the Lord. We are from Puerto Rico and making the decision to join the USAF was a way to say 'Thank You' to the US for all that has been done to our beloved island. This is currently our first Deployment, and I can say with my whole heart that he is safe and he is returning with his head held high, knowing how believing in the Lord, one can accomplish wonders and pass challenges. May he continue believing in Jesus and persevering in the Lord. Just pray for a safe return!"
Wayne T. Perkins

Army National Guard
Facing Redeployment to Iraq
"Wayne is a wonderful son, brother, husband and father. He served with the Army National Guard in Kosovo for 14 months and is now facing redeployment to Iraq. During his time away with the military it was very difficult for our family, but with our faith in God and constant prayers we got through it. We come from a long line of military personnel and it is never easy waiting for your loved one to come home safely. Our prayers go out to all military families who are waiting on loved ones to come back home, and for our solders who are proudly serving their country and putting their lives on the line. It is because of these brave men and women that we have our freedom in the United States of America. We are a proud military family and proud to be an American. Our son was on the honor guard for 3 Perry County Pennsylvania soldiers killed in Iraq. After the services for the fallen soldiers the families came up to our son and thanked him for his compassion during the service and they also thanked him for his service in the Military. He is a proud soldier and in his words “soldiers do not cry”, but we saw a few tears that day. He saluted the families, hugged them all and thanked them. He later told us that God was walking with him that day and will walk with him and his family until death."

Gideon Foster

101st Airborne
Currently serving in
Our son, Gideon has been in the Army since 2001, and has completed 3 deployments. (Afghanistan/Pakistan for 8 months, & 2 - one year tours to Iraq. ) Sadly, he has lost some good friends to combat and IEDs, but he has come thru safely. I can only imagine the emotional toll our troops suffer; I know some of the physical hardships they face (usually without complaint!) , and the emotional toll on the soldiers families. Gideon has been married for 4 yrs to wife Leah, but they've only had 2 yrs together! So hard to fall asleep at night when your soldier is an ocean away, and you don't know if he is ok, or in the midst of combat, lonely, or hurting. I don't think non-military families realize the impact. Your book will hopefully make people more thankful for our troops, and all they do. I read somewhere that people should be thankful for the 2 people who lay down their lives for us....Jesus, who laid down his life to save our soul, and the soldier who laid down his life to save our freedom. Please remember all our troops in your prayers, including my son and his buddies. I have a feeling we will be facing more deployments in the future.

Lewis Schroeder
United States Marines
Serving in Iraq
My cousin Lew is currently over in Iraq on his second tour. While he was over there we got the news that our Gramma had cancer, and just about 8 weeks ago was given 4-6 weeks to live. She's clearly getting weaker, and Lew isn't scheduled to come home until April. It's hard for both my Gramma and Lew to know that they might never see each other again on this earth. Please pray for a way for them to be able to see each other again, and if that can't happen, then comfort for the both of them in this difficult situation. The picture is of him and his sisters, Ashley and Angie, on Angie's wedding day this past summer.
